Blood Type Compatibility FAQ

What is the universal blood donor type?
O negative (O-) is the universal red blood cell donor type, meaning it can be given to patients of any blood type in emergencies. AB positive (AB+) is the universal recipient.
What does the compatibility matrix show?

Why does Rh factor matter for blood transfusions?
